Transport Administrator

Job description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Administrator to join our team. As a Transport Administrator, you will be responsible for assisting in various administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of our transport office.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling the skip collections fleet and managing their daily workload
  • Assist the transport manager in ensuring that all transport legislation is adhered to at all times
  • Assist the office with other daily administrative duties
  • Cover office duties in case of holidays and/or sickness absence
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and dealing with queries
  • Ensure all relevant records are maintained
  • Monitor and action shared email mailboxes
  • Report near miss, incident and accidents via company portal
  • Ensure waste transfer paperwork is accurate and complete where required
  • Assist site management to ensure environmental, health and safety compliance across all operations
  • Manage documentation and escalating customer complaints where required
  • Effectively communicate waste acceptance requirements to customers
  • Any other related duties connected with the Company’s business as required.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Proficient in data entry and administrative tasks
  • Knowledge of office procedures and clerical duties
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
  • Driving license (preferred).

Experience

  • Administrative experience (1 year preferred)
  • Waste Transport (1 year preferred)
  • Education – GCSE or equivalent.
