Two years ago this autumn, we launched the new Goonvean Group branding and website. Last year, we reflected on the new era the Group has moved into; an exciting time of both internal and external transformation. As our second anniversary dawns, we look at how the Group has continued to build on the solid foundations we laid two years ago, highlighting just a few of the key initiatives across our group of companies.
Cementing the three Cs
A huge part of our rebrand was defining the Group’s core values, known as ‘The Three Cs’: to be caring, connected, and courageous in our endeavours.
Distilling our values into three distinct, memorable points was a new concept, and one we hoped people would connect with. Two years on, the three Cs are thoroughly embedded in our culture and well-known across the Group and our segments. We continue to embrace and embody our values in all we do, both in the way we conduct business and our extensive community engagement activities.
- Caring: This year our first Family Celebration welcomed loved ones to the new Cullompton site, and our annual Goonvean Games brought everyone together to celebrate all we’ve achieved. We’re also entering our third year of supporting our chosen charities, and have so far this year raised over £22,000.
- Connected: Networking has been a key focus; with events such as those held at Weston-Super-Mare Football club, sales training at Bristol, various specific membership organised events, numerous exhibitions and shows, and the visit of the Lord Lieutenants from Cornwall and Devon to Cullompton to showcase our various companies.
- Courageous: From Jacqui Brownridge of Equinoxx tackling a 100-mile charity walking challenge, an epic daily marathon week in May, to the Big Hike along the Cornish coast line, numerous aspects of our Group took courage to reach new heights this year.

Group-wide support for mental health and wellbeing
Social wellbeing continues to be a huge focus for the Group, supported throughout the year by monthly events scheduled in our ‘wellbeing calendar’. We’ve implemented training and support for our Group-wide Mental Health First Aid Network, a support system that anyone in the Group can turn to.
Working with external partners, we’ve also established an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all our employees. From the day they join us, our employees and their immediate family have access to a free 24-hour helpline, offering completely confidential advice on stress and anxiety, financial wellbeing, counselling, and more.
Business and leadership development
Since the Group rebrand, sustained and strategic growth has been a priority. This sustained growth was well-documented in our first annual Social Impact Report. Published back in March 2026, this report reflected on the achievements and important changes made Group-wide between 2024 and 2025.
One of the many things the Impact Report digs into is our continued focus on leadership development, led by Sandra Sampson, our Head of Group Learning and Development. This year, we’ve continued not only with our focus on developing our Managing Directors, we have expanded our efforts to include a Leadership Development and Succession Programme for nearly 40 senior leaders across the Group. We continue to invest in talent to drive business growth and work towards becoming an Employer of Choice.
We’ve also been working on assuring the future of Goonvean with the support of apprenticeships and events like the Amazon Team Challenge, and we’re passionate about increasing female representation in engineering, a traditionally male-dominated sector.
Another exciting year to come
All that to say, it’s been another fantastic year of development, community, and values-led business endeavours for Goonvean Group. We approach our second anniversary excited for our ambition to continue growing, with exciting future plans in the pipeline. We again would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members of staff; without you none of our growth or ambitions would be realised and so thank you, and please continue to do what you do and to strive for us to ‘Be the best in everything we do’. Here’s to a successful FY2027!
