In short, sustainability is the effect a company has on the environment or society. Our business aims to positively impact both of these by protecting our environment and supporting the communities in which we operate. Environmental Management
As a group we have been investigating the elements of our business with the greatest impact on the environment and how we can make changes to reduce these. These all form part of our plan for a sustainable future…
Energy
As well as directly supplying many of our sites with on site solar power, our group is focussed on the purchase of renewable energy from our suppliers. With fully REGO certified supply contracts in place from October 2024 we can be assured that our business activities are being powered responsibly.
Securing renewable energy supply is just the first step in reducing our emissions. Our plans for the future include energy monitoring and management to make sure we are using our renewable energy in the most efficient ways.
Transport
Since 2022 we have been transitioning our company car fleet to fully electric vehicles, with the target of a complete transition by 2030. We also use renewable electricity to charge and power these vehicles where possible.
Electric vehicles are just a small part of our sustainable travel plans. We encourage our colleagues to use sustainable travel, including public transport and car pooling where possible.
Waste
Our group prioritises the reduction of waste and recycling of materials where possible in our manufacturing and service provision.
We utilise waste management contractors that are committed to sending zero waste to landfill. We are also investing in our waste management business to ensure we can recover as much recyclable material as possible and process waste materials efficiently.
