Goonvean are delighted to share news of an exciting new addition to the Group: UK LED Lighting. Read on to find out a little more about the business and what they do.
UK LED Lighting
Based in Kingsbridge, Devon, UK LED Lighting provide lighting designers, architects, and contractors with high quality LED solutions. Since they opened their doors in 2007, the business has become a key LED lighting supplier to customers in the UK and abroad.
How did the acquisition come about?
UK LED’s owners were ready to retire. They had built a respectable, reputable business with an impressive client base. Now, they wanted to pass the company on to new leadership that would help the business continue to prosper and grow. They decided to turn to Goonvean Group.
The opportunity for us to acquire the company was somewhat unplanned, but nevertheless came as an exciting and appealing proposal as UK LED Lighting make a welcome addition to our Engineered segment.
Why is the company a good fit for Goonvean Group?
UK LED Lighting is a perfect fit for Goonvean Group, diversifying the customer base of our Engineered segment, whilst simultaneously leveraging existing distribution channels.
They will also become a focal point of our new, Cullompton-based Engineering Centre of Excellence. Alongside the development of the Engineering Centre, UK LED Lighting’s cutting edge technology offers a fantastic opportunity for Goonvean Group.
What happens next?
Following the acquisition, UK LED Lighting will move its operations to our new state-of-the-art facilities at J28 of the M5 in Cullompton, Devon. James Mullins will become the new Managing Director. The current Director, Sue Esplin, will stay on in an advisory role during the transition to help things go smoothly.

With the acquisition of UK LED Lighting, Goonvean Group continue to support new group-led building development projects. With their already well established commercial relationships, we have every confidence the company’s move to our Cullompton facilities will be a hugely successful one.
