With many years of success and experience within the coil winding and electronics industry, North Devon Electronics (NDE) are a key part of Goonvean Group’s Engineered segment. Recently, NDE made the exciting announcement that they have acquired Jades Components.
Who are Jades Components?
Founded in 1982, Jades Components is a highly respected supplier of specialist industrial electrical components. Based out of Kingsbridge, Devon, Jades has 28 employees and has become one of the UK’s leading transformer manufacturers.
Known for their technical expertise and fantastic customer support, Jades will perfectly complement NDE’s existing strengths as a well-established part of the electronics industry.
“Jades’ established reputation as a sector leading electronic manufacturing specialist make it a natural complement to NDE,” said Matthew Gazzard, Goonvean Group Managing Director. “Bringing the Jades operations into the Group solidifies our presence in the various sectors we operate across. This acquisition further enhances the customer offerings of both NDE and Jades.”
What happens now?
Following the acquisition, Jades’ existing management team will continue to run Jades Components as a wholly owned subsidiary of NDE. They will be supported by Gary McLean as the new Operations Manager joining from Goonvean Group, and Michael Hayward, NDE Managing Director, will lead the combined businesses.
“We are very excited that Jades are joining the NDE team,” said Michael Hayward. “It brings together the complementary product portfolios and market leading manufacturing capabilities of these two companies.
“As part of Goonvean Group, Jades will be well positioned to continue investing in new technology and bringing product ideas to life, while creating increased value for all stakeholders.”
What does this mean for NDE?
NDE views the move as an excellent way to bolster its existing manufacturing capabilities, diversify its customer base, and boost existing distribution channels.
“After over 40 years heading the business, we are extremely pleased to be passing over the custody of Jades to a family run investment Group,” said Sue Esplin, on behalf of the previous shareholders of Jades Components Ltd.
“Watching the incredible progress of NDE since they joined the Goonvean Group gives us confidence that we pass Jades over to supportive, progressive, ambitious new owners who will help to maximise all that Jades can achieve in the future.”
