Case Study
Jades Components
Jades Components, located in Kingsbridge, Devon, are one of the UK’s foremost electronic component manufacturers, servicing the Aerospace, Medical, Lighting and Industrial Electronics sectors.
Following an approach from the owners / managers, discussions started based on whether bringing Jades Components into Goonvean Group, via North Devon Electronics (NDE), would be beneficial to all parties. Jades Components were seeking an opportunity to acquire investment, which would ultimately ‘release’ the company owners, allowing them to pursue their retirement plans.
From the outset, there was a clear synergy in merging Jades Components and NDE: both businesses were held in high regard and had strong reputations within the industry. At a time when numerous manufacturing opportunities are being reshored back into the UK, having increased capacity and complimentary ‘know-how’ seemed timely and somewhat fortuitous.

Solution
Following discussions with the existing shareholders, an agreement was quickly reached for North Devon Electronics (supported by Goonvean Group) to take 100% share ownership.
Outcome
From the outset, the Jades Components and NDE teams have collaborated extremely well.
